Karen Bartlett is an author and journalist currently working on a new book about the campaign to free the world from polio, and how eradicating that, and other diseases, will transform the world – opening up a new era of scientific possibility, and changing the global economy and political system.

Working together with film-maker Amna Khwaja, they will also be bringing some of these issues to life in a documentary which charts the remarkable story of how polio has affected people’s lives, as well as showing unique access to normally unseen global institutions.

The book and documentary will be released in 2016.
